Day 3. Favourite Pairing
First off, feeling pretty bad about missing a day. Does that mean i should do 3 AND 4 today or just turn this into a 21 day challenge? ANYWAY…
I know the popular answer to this is “Sebastian and Ciel”, “Alois and Claude”, or some combination thereof, but as much as I love Sebastian and Ciel’s relationship I can’t help but feel that saying it’s your “favorite relationship” is kind of a cheat. I mean, their relationship is the premise for the entire story. As for Alois and Claude, I think the only way that could be my favorite pairing is if I hated Alois (which I clearly don’t) and derived some sort of sick pleasure from watching him suffer emotional abuse and neglect at the hands of Claude. As for Alois and Claude, just because I like them both, doesn’t mean I think they’re good together. Despite being cut from the same cloth, they’re too different from one another to work well as one unit. I dunno, I just don’t see it I guess.
BUT BACK TO MY ANSWER
If you know my feelings regarding Alois, it should come as no surprise that my favorit pairing is Alois and Hannah.
It made me so happy to see Alois finally realize there had been someone who loved him by his side the whole time, even after Claude rejected him. Not to mention it was really sweet to see him reunited with his brother through Hannah and understand just how much his brother sacrificed just for his happiness. It was also pretty heartwarming to see Hannah finally have the love she had for Alois reciprocated.
