I do not understand the American high school system at all. Somebody please explain?

What don’t you understand about it?

Anything.
Terms like senior, junior, sophomore etc.
How the grading system works.
When school usually begins and ends.
Just. Nothing makes sense.

I think it’s different for every state, but school usually starts around 7-8 AM and gets out at 2-3 PM.  The grading system is different for every state as well as required classes (except for the obvious math, social studies, science, and English classes), but the grading system is on a percentage scale.  Generalizing (and I’m probably really off with my numbers), 100-95 = A(+, if you get 100), 94-86 = B, 85-76 = C, 75-68 = D, and anything below that is an F. A freshman is a 9th grader, a sophomore is a 10th grader, junior is an 11th grader, and a senior is a 12th grader.  Depending on the school you go to, you have 2-4 semesters with 4-6, sometimes 7 and 8, classes.  A semester lasts (for me) nine weeks.  Each class is about an hour to an hour and forty-five minutes long (my school has a college-schedule thing going on).  It starts typically between August and September and lets out between May and June, sometimes July if your school has too many snow days to make up.  If you need anything else, let me know~

Well, damn.
