ugh, exactly. that’s why i draw with my eyes shut. just to keep out all those horrid outside influences, you know?
and when i get jury summons. i make sure i’ve got my mp3 player in with me to drown out all that relevant information so i can make my judgement based on absolutely nothing at all. same thing when i’m voting. i just drop my pen onto the ballot paper and hope it makes a tick in one of the boxes. heck, i’m reblogging this post with commentary and i didn’t even read it. i have no respect for people who put any research into what they’re doing whatsoever. they’re just gross.
Reblogging for amazing comment.
Okay, I’m sorry- was everyone too preoccupied with Sebastian and Ronnie’s face-off to notice Grell being an even badder bitch than usual? Fucking intercepting everything and kicking more ass left right and center?
Because I noticed.
Bitch takes a scythe right through the gut and gets up like it’s no fucking problem and starts fighting tooth and nail like shit isn’t even funny anymore.
In fact, you’ll notice she only got in ONE line of flirting. That’s serious.
If you think a character in Kuroshitsuji is useless and unimportant, think again. Yana Toboso will most likely make that character have some super-cool ability and be a badass all over the place.
Exhibit A: Grell
Exhibit B: Phantomhive servants
Exhibit C: Elizabeth
Exhibit D: Undertaker (although I already loved him when he was his former idgaf self)
Just because one suddenly sprouts a weapon/fighting ability doesn’t automatically make them an interesting character. Just sayin’.
Last time I checked, “useless and unimportant” was under a different category to “interesting”. Say, the servants may not be all that fascinating, but they’re most definitely needed, particularly for that time period and Ciel’s… situation. (:

Well, don’t you think that especially because a certain character is ‘needed’, they should be adequately fleshed-out to create an elaborate array of colorful characters that, in turn, contribute to a story? :/ You can’t have an interesting story without interesting characters, and the simple fact that even some of the main characters go without a diverse spectrum of development is sorely disappointing to me. I love Kuroshitsuji, but it’s not perfect. And this is one of the few things about it that irks me. :/
I’m sorry you feel that way about the characters. Personally I think all they’re all interesting, but like you said… not enough development. Yet, it seems deliberate, as one of the things that keeps me holding on is the vain hope of getting some insight on even the minor characters. I suppose it’s one of my pet peeves too- underdeveloped characters wouldn’t matter nearly as much if Kuro was more the plot-oriented type of series, but in that case, I probably wouldn’t love it as much.
Just in case you were thinking of sleeping tonight.
